Welcome to the School Committee website. It is our hope that it will serve as an excellent source of information for our students, staff, parents, and community members. The School Committee invites you to contact any member of the committee when you have concerns, suggestions, or thoughts to share that will benefit and improve our district.Your voice is important to us.

The Haverhill School Committee consists of six members elected for four-year terms. The Mayor serves as Chairperson of the School Committee firstname.lastname@example.org Annually at its Organizational Meeting (first meeting in January) the members elect a Vice Chairperson. On January 9, 2020, Attorney Richard Rosa at email@example.com was elected by his colleagues to this position.
The Haverhill School Committee invites and encourages parents and community members to either attend our committee meetings or watch live on either cable television channel 9 or online from the Haverhill Community Television website. Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 2nd floor, in the Council Chambers. The School Committee’s powers and duties are derived from and controlled by state statute. Its powers and responsibilities are stated in the Policy and Procedure Manual. It is not the job of the School Committee to manage our schools, but to see that our schools are managed well. The School Committee is in the process of developing goals for the Superintendent of Schools.
