Internet Safety Healthy Relationships Training for Caregivers March 26th 5:30-7pm on Zoom. My Life My Choice will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely and foster positive relationships with youth. This training covers essential topics such as online privacy, identifying and addressing online predators, promoting digital literacy, and fostering open communication about online experiences.
Through this training, caregivers will:
Gain confidence in guiding youth toward responsible internet usage and nurturing strong, respectful relationships in the digital age;
Learn strategies for effectively monitoring and managing youth’s online activities;
Gain skills for fostering open communication with youth about their online experiences and concerns; Recognize signs of unhealthy behaviors in online relationships and provide appropriate support and intervention; and
Build a network of support and learn more about available resources.

RAFT – The Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) Program is a homelessness prevention program funded by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). RAFT provides short-term financial assistance to low-income families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  Call 781-654-5607 or apply here  Landlords can also apply for RAFT.

To apply for Emergency Assistance from DHCD speak with a Homeless Coordinator by calling (866) 584-0653. By phone: If you apply over the phone, tell the person who answers what language you speak and an over-the-phone interpreter will be provided to you free of charge.

Mass Homeowners Assistance Fund-The Mass HAF will provide up to $50,000 in financial assistance to eligible homeowners who have missed 3 or more home mortgage payments to help them avoid foreclosure. The missed payments do not need to be consecutive

Ruth’s House – Clothing Needs Thrift Store.  Open to the public and also provide a $50 voucher to each family member, 4 times a year to spend at the store if they qualify.   Qualification based on enrollment of at least one of the following programs: MASS Health, Food Stamps/EBT Card, Fuel Assistance, Veterans Aid, SSDI, SSI or Free Lunch Program.  Free Suits altered for any Veteran.

Diaper Bank – The Anchor of Hope Diaper Bank, the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, and the parishioners of Saint James Church provide these diapers. Diapers will be given the SECOND and FOURTH SATURDAY of the month from 10AM-11AM to those Haverhill residents who register to receive them. Distribution occurs at the Saint Vincent de Paul section of the St. James Parish Center on Cottage Street. The number of diapers you receive will depend on the number that has been donated. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that we will have diapers every month. Let the volunteers know if your child’s size has changed for the next month. Children from birth to age 4 are eligible for up to 50 diapers/month. Diaper client info website.

Hand Hold MA Many families are worried about their child’s mental health, but they aren’t sure where to turn or how to get started.  Massachusetts’  Department of Mental Health, Office of Child Advocate and Health and Human Services partnered for a  new family friendly website created by a team of mental health and child development experts in partnership with parents who have “been there.”

Family and Community Resource Center  Family & Community Resource Center to help families raise children in healthy, stable homes. All services are free and open to all families in Essex County.

Sacred Hearts Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:15 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Behind the Rectory, 16 Carlton Street in Bradford (between Church and Haverhill Bank), (978) 373-1281. All Saints Food Pantry – 120 Bellevue Ave, Haverhill The Food Pantry is open 10 am to 12 pm on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Open Heart Ministries – 217 Main Street Haverhill MA Distributing hot meals in to-go containers on Sundays from 2-3pm. Distribution is at the kitchen door in the back of First Baptist Church.

The Salvation Army 395 Main Street Haverhill MA, Food Pantry is open Mon-Wed-Fri mornings from 8:30-11:30 am and 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 5p-7p. 

The Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry – We service Haverhill/Bradford residents.  We are located in the basement of the Unitarian Church at 16 Ashland Street.   Open Tuesdays 4-7pm. New Clients must bring proof of residency (Utility Bill, IRS Letter, SNAP Letter, Welfare Letter, Social Security Letter, etc).  978-372-0260. Clients who have proof of full vaccination status can come inside the pantry and shop. Clients who are not fully vaccinated or who did not bring proof of vaccination with them will continue to receive pre-bagged groceries when visiting the pantry.

Project Bread Helpline

WIC – At this time we are limiting the number of visits into our WIC offices. We are encouraging participants who currently have scheduled appointments to not come into the office, but stay at home and wait for us to call them with further instructions on how we will be able to help them obtain benefits. New applicants, and those who need to schedule an appointment, should not walk in, but call us and we will call them back. Thank you for your patience. YWCA Domestic Violence Supports 24/7 Hotline Numbers: Domestic Violence 844-372-9922 and Sexual Assault: 877-509-9922. Anyone in need of Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault services may call the YWCA during the day from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 978.374.6121.  As an alternative, you may call the Massachusetts statewide, 24-hour SafeLink Domestic Violence Sheltering Line at 877.785.2020.  This line is for referrals to shelter and domestic violence hotlines and programs in your region.

Endurance Behavioral Health Partial Hospital Program – Serves the mental health needs of teens 13-20 via comprehensive HIPAA compliant virtual programming. PHP offers daily structure including individual therapy, family support, didactic and process group therapy, as well as daily wellness therapy including yoga, art and music. Recovery and Addiction Services

Motivating Youth Recovery (MYR) –  is a 12-bed acute detoxification and stabilization program for adolescents 13-18 years old. While at MYR, clients are medically monitored 24 hours a day and receive a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis, treatment and aftercare planning from a multidisciplinary treatment team comprised of psychiatrists, master’s level clinicians, registered nurses, case managers, and counselors. You Forward – Supports youth and young adults 16-25 experiencing mental health challenges.  Staff is also available at Haverhill High School Family Resource Center  during Thursday lunch periods.

Massachusetts Family Resource Center for Haverhill is located at 530 Broadway 3rd floor, Lawrence MA.  They work with families to provide services and referrals to community agencies to help strengthen families.
