Hand Hold MA COVID-19 is putting incredible pressure on our families. Many families are worried about their child’s mental health, but they aren’t sure where to turn or how to get started. Massachusetts’ Department of Mental Health, Office of Child Advocate and Health and Human Services partnered for a new family friendly website created by a team of mental health and child development experts in partnership with parents who have “been there.”

RAFT- The Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) Program is a homelessness prevention program funded by the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). RAFT provides short-term financial assistance to low-income families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Call 781-654-5607
Clothing Needs- Ruth’s House- Thrift Store. Open to the public and also provide a $50 voucher to each family member, 4 times a year to spend at the store if they qualify. Family and Community Resource Center- Family & Community Resource Center to help families raise children in healthy, stable homes. Haverhill Public Schools continues to run mobile Grab & Go sites! All children and teens 18 and under can receive free meals in Haverhill. No registration or ID required. -Haverhill Public Library Parking Lot from 12:30pm-1pmSacred Hearts Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:15 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. 6 Carleton Avenue, Bradford, MA Participants are asked to wait outside using social distancing in line while they wait to check in at the usual door facing the parking lot. There is a Portable Restroom available outside of the cafe. Monday Lunch: Grab and Go – 12PM-2PM Friday Lunch: Grab and Go from the Parking Lot . 12PM-1:30PM Saturday: Breakfast Grab and Go 7AM – 9AMAM Sunday: Breakfast grab and go 7AM to 8:30 AM Coffee and Service 8:30AM – 10AM (Can Only Serve a Limited Number of Patrons). All Saints Food Pantry – 120 Bellevue Ave, Haverhill Until further notice, will continue to serve anyone who comes to the Pantry parking lot on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month from 10am – 12:00noon. Donations ARE being accepted. We are set up in our parking lot, asking everyone to keep a safe distance from each other, and distributing prepackaged bags of groceries to each participant.
Open Heart Ministries– 217 Main Street Haverhil MA Distributing hot meals in to-go containers on Sundays from 2-3pm. Distribution is at the kitchen door in the back of First Baptist Church.
The Salvation Army 395 Main Street Haverhill MA, Food Pantry is open Mon-Wed-Fri mornings from 8:30-11:30 am and 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 5p-7p. Individuals can take a pre-packed box or participate in a semi-choice style pantry. Bag lunches on Tues-Thurs-Fri at noon in place of our regular meal service. Starting October 1 – resume sit down lunch in 2 shifts. 11:30 and 12:15. Dining area can only hold 24-32 people at a time.
All St. Vincent de Paul Helplines have been closed due to the requirement that a home visit be made before disbursing funds. At this time, volunteers are not authorized to make home visits due to the state of emergency and quarantine restrictions.
The Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry We service Haverhill/Bradford residents. We are located in the basement of the Unitarian Church at 16 Ashland Street. Open Tuesdays 4-7pm. New Clients must bring proof of residency (Utility Bill, IRS Letter, SNAP Letter, Welfare Letter, Social Security Letter, etc). 978-372-0260.
WIC– At this time we are limiting the number of visits into our WIC offices. We are encouraging participants who currently have scheduled appointments to not come into the office, but stay at home and wait for us to call them with further instructions on how we will be able to help them obtain benefits. New applicants, and those who need to schedule an appointment, should not walk in, but call us and we will call them back. Thank you for your patience. YWCA Domestic Violence Supports Anyone in need of Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault services may call the YWCA during the day from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 978.374.6121. After hours, you may call our 24-hour hotline at 844.372.9922. As an alternative, you may call the Massachusetts statewide, 24-hour SafeLink Domestic Violence Sheltering Line at 877.785.2020. This line is for referrals to shelter and domestic violence hotlines and programs in your region.

Recovery and Addiction Services
Motivating Youth Recovery Website MYR is a 12-bed acute detoxification and stabilization program for adolescents 13-18 years old. While at MYR, clients are medically monitored 24 hours a day and receive a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis, treatment and aftercare planning from a multidisciplinary treatment team comprised of psychiatrists, master’s level clinicians, registered nurses, case managers, and counselors. Work Permits
Effective as of April 2020- Work Permits can be issued remotely. Completed applications with all required documents should be emailed to Sara Moccio at: smoccio@haverhill-ps.org. Work permits can also be issued in person at the School Department at City Hall and in the M-wing office at HHS
Directions:
1. Employer will complete and sign the first section on page one. Work Permits are not issued until you have a job.
2. If you are 14 or 15 years old your physician must sign the 2nd section.
3. Please have your parent/guardian sign the 3rd section.
4. YOU will sign the last section.
5. Along with your completed application you must also provide proof of your age. This can be a birth certificate, passport, immigration record, state ID, driver’s license or learner’s permit.
