IMPORTANT SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Haverhill School Committee is committed to keeping our students, staff, families, and visitors safe. Due to safety concerns in busy pedestrian areas, HPS has adopted a new Powered Micromobility Device Policy, effective immediately.
What is Prohibited?
Electric or motorized personal transport devices—including e-bikes, e-scooters, electric skateboards, hoverboards, and e-unicycles—are NOT permitted anywhere on Haverhill Public Schools property. This includes all sidewalks, walkways, parking lots, athletic fields, playgrounds, driveways, and bus zones.
Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action and/or device confiscation.
Exceptions Include:
- Mobility devices used by individuals with disabilities (ADA/Section 504)
- Law enforcement and emergency personnel
- HPS staff operating authorized maintenance equipment
- Official school activities specifically approved by the Superintendent
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school grounds safe for everyone!
