In February 2014, the Hunking School Building Committee approved Shawmut Design & Construction as the Construction Manager at Risk for the Hunking school building project.
The Massachusetts School Building Authority, a state agency that helps qualifying school districts pay for needed school building projects, adds 1 percentage point of reimbursement for districts that hire a CMR instead of a general contractor that works under a design/bid/build model.
