As you know, Governor Charlie Baker has announced the shutdown of all Massachusetts schools for the remainder of the school year due to COVID-19, and while these past few months have been challenging to say the least, I cannot emphasize enough that health and safety must remain our primary focus at this time. With that said, I urge you, please always be cognizant not only of your own well-being, but of those around you, especially your elders and any individual with a preexisting health condition. We do this out of love and respect for others.
The month of May has already given us plenty to be thankful for. In this month alone, we have celebrated four pillars within our School District: Food Services, School Lunch Hero Day (May 1st); Principals Appreciation Day (May 1st); Teachers Appreciation Day (May 5th) and Teachers Appreciation Week (May 4th – 8th); and Nurses Appreciation Day (May 6th) and Nurses Appreciation Week (May 6th – May 12th). I would like to thank all of our parents and students for submitting both humorous and heartfelt videos for our teachers!
I would also like to thank our parents, students, and our entire community, for their continued support in our remote learning efforts. I want to congratulate our graduating seniors; the resiliency displayed by the Class of 2020 is unrivaled, and while a social distancing graduation is not ideal, hard choices such as this one, are ultimately decided upon with everyone’s health and safety in mind. I have zero doubts our graduates will go on to accomplish wonderful things, and I cannot wait to learn all about them!
Please continue reaching out to your mentors and educators as you always have. Whether we are on-site, or remote, we will remain proactive with our emails and voicemails Monday through Friday.
