Professional Staff Positions
To apply for an administrative or teaching position, applicants can apply on-line Click Here or may download and complete the Professional Application Form and submit along with a letter of intent (include job reference number), current resume, official transcripts, three letters of reference, and copy of a Massachusetts educator license to the Human Resource Office prior to 4:00 p.m. on the posted closing date. Massachusetts Teacher Licensure: Appropriate licensure (certification) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is required for Massachusetts public school teachers. For information on state licensure or to apply for licensure, visit the Massachusetts DESE on-line “Educator Licensure and Recruitment Center” (ELAR) http://www.doe.mass.edu/license.html or call 781-338-3000.
Support Staff Positions

Athletic Coach Positions

Criminal Offender Record Information: M.G.L. c. 71 §38R requires the Haverhill Public Schools to request criminal offender record information (CORI) from the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board (CHSB) for both present and future employees in any HPS program who have direct and unmonitored contact with children. Applicants for employment in the Haverhill Public Schools must complete a CORI Request Form prior to employment.

Community Profile
Included in the school district brochure is a profile of the Haverhill school community and opportunities for potential employees. The Haverhill Public Schools is very active in its recruitment and retention of “highly qualified” staff. Annualy, Haverhill co-sponsors the Merrimack Valley Recruitment Fair in March. Benefit Information
Health Insurance
Employees working a regular schedule of 20 or more hours per week are eligible for health insurance coverage. Temporary employees and those employed under service agreements are not eligible for benefits.
The City of Haverhill School Department offers the following health plans to its eligible employee:
1. Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO
2. Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO

Dental Insurance
Employees may opt for a dental plan through Delta Dental. Information regarding the extent of coverage and the monthly costs can be accessed through the business office, Jackie Pare at Jpare@Haverhill-ps.org or call (978) 374-3410.
Life Insurance
A basic term life insurance plan is available to all eligible employees through Boston Mutual Life Insurance. A chart indicating the monthly costs for term insurance can be accessed through the business office Jackie Pare at Jpare@Haverhill-ps.org or call (978) 374-3410.
Whole life insurance with lifetime guaranteed benefits with future cash value is available to employees through Life Plus Insurance Agency. Employee can access more information on rates and coverage by calling (781) 837-9222.
Disability Insurance
Employees may opt for disability insurance coverage and access further information by calling New England Insurance Specialists at 1-888-474-1959.
Cancer Insurance
A cancer insurance plan is available to employees through American Heritage Insurance Company. Coverage is for medical and non-medical expenses associated with cancer treatment and paid directly to the insured. Retirement
Massachusetts licensed teachers working .67 FTE or more must join the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement Board (MTRB). Other permanent employees working more than twenty (20) hours per week must join the City of Haverhill Retirement Plan.Comprehensive retirement systems offer defined benefit pensions to workers who have retired after a fixed number of years of creditable service, having attained a certain age or who have become disabled.
Deferred Compensation
Employees who are eligible may also invest in pre-tax dollars through payroll deductions in a deferred compensation plan. This permits you to defer up to $7,500 or 25% of your salary (whichever is less) from federal and state taxes.An annuity plan through Aetna is provided as a retirement plan for those employees not eligible for the Massachusetts Teachers or City of Haverhill Retirement Plans.
