THE BOOK FAIR - WEEK OF OCTOBER 18th!
|
|
The Book Fair was a huge success. Our profit was $586 split 50/50 between the PTO and the teachers. Each teacher received $81 to purchase books. After expenses incurred from our Family Night, we will profit approximately $84. Thank you to
all who participated in both fundraisers and volunteered their
time. We would especially thank Jennifer Onofaro for all of
her hard work and dedication to make our Book Fair a success.

Rosebud Lollipop Fundraiser – A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
|
|
Watch here for more information regarding the always popular Rosebud Lollipop fundraising. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT |

|
Due to the current budget situation of the Haverhill Public Schools, Walnut Square School, like most schools in our district, has limited funds for school supplies. Once toilet paper, paper towels and copy machine costs are paid, there is little left for basic school supplies (books, crayons, chalk to name a few). In an
effort to help our teachers, and ultimately our children, the Walnut Square
PTO has created a “Giving Tree”. The “tree” has leaves listing school
supplies needed by our teachers. The “tree” also lists play items (jump
ropes, balls, hula hoops, etc.) for the children to use during recess. Our “Giving Tree” is currently located inside the school near the front office. If you are unable to visit the school to pick-up a “leaf” or would like more information on our “Giving Tree” please contact a PTO member.

It’s
easy to help out! Walnut Square is collecting returnable plastic bottles and cans to raise money for basic school supplies. Just rinse out your returnable plastic bottles and cans and send them in with your child. It’s that easy! Did you
know that you can purchase returnable bottles and cans at Market Basket in
Plaistow? It’s true. You don’t have to pay the deposit because you are in NH,
yet we get the 5˘ when we return them! Please
help raise some additional money for our children. If you are available to help return bottles and cans
to the Amesbury redemption center, please contact Mrs. Brent in Rm. 4.
Additional volunteers are ALWAYS welcome. |

|
“Clip” for cash! Clip
Box Tops coupons from participating products and send them to our school.
Each coupon is worth 10˘ when we redeem them through General Mills. General
Mills has hundreds of participating products throughout the grocery store.
Some examples are Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Pillsbury Cookie Dough, Progresso
Soup, Pillsbury Frozen Waffles, Dunkaroos Snacks and Gold Medal Flour. These
are just a few. For
more information visit the official Box Tops site at www.boxtops4education.com
or contact our school’s coordinator, Karen Archambault. |

Our e-mail list |
Receive school-wide announcements and reminders by e-mail!
Through Yahoo.com we have established the “Walnut Square Parents Group”. This group will be used ONLY to send members school-wide information that typically is sent home with your child via a flyer. Some examples are fundraiser due dates, reminders about meeting dates, budget updates and other important information that our principal and the Walnut Square Committees (Site Council, PTO, Literacy Council, Steering Committee) feel you should know.
This list was established to keep you better informed of the happenings at our school. Please be aware that this list will be in ADDITION to the traditional lines of communication (notices, telephone calls, flyers). This list will not replace them.
Can’t wait to have you on board!
