Updates and Announcements
- Dianne Connolly is organizing an e–cycling fundraiser for Saturday, May 3rd 9–1. People may bring their electronics and pay a fee to dispose of them. PTO approved $50 for ads to be taken out in the paper for this event. Will forward e–flyer, circulate flyers to businesses and around community.
- Bingo Night was a big success. Sold out and no one turned away. May have someone come look at the Bingo machine which wasn't working during the event.
- 90 people attended Family Night at Lowell Devils. Lots of fun!
- So far 4 boxes of books have been collected for the book drive for The Book Cellar which began last week.
- Mexican theme for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Looking for cooks.
- 4th grade Carnival going along as planned. JGW Honor Society students volunteering to work the booths.
- 3rd Grade Roundup is looking for someone to drive the truck to pull the hayride.
- 2nd grade Fiesta on track. May need 5th grade volunteers to help work the event.
- 1st grade A Day at the “Zoo” is on track. Games, crafts, photo op, face painting, balloon animals are just some of the things planned for that afternoon.
- $9872.50 is the current balance with $7000 already reserved for grade events, yearbook and field trips.
Principal's Report
- Preparing to do a Lock Down drill in order to get procedure in order.
- 5th grade not moving to middle school. Superintendent looking into how to make the most of the space in the schools that is available.
- Coffee with the Principal has been cancelled. Trying to find ways to get parents more involved in the classrooms.
Request for Funds
- $100 for Secretary's Day for Donna Medugno, Cheryl Wood and Mary Rodden—Approved
- $60 for 3rd grade concert for Ms. Bridgford, Miss Ellis and Mr. Gaff—Approved
- $400 for 2nd grade to bring “Rainforest Reptiles” program for on–site field trip—Approved
- $50 for Mrs. Roberts for Pen Pal field trip to Crowell School—Approved
Other Business
- Fundraiser options include: Genevieve's, Yankee Candle, Tupperware. Will be revisited at next meeting.

Updates and Announcements
- Inca Son was a HUGE hit with the students! The children were very well behaved during the presentation. Inca sun will return again for a presentation to the fifth graders.
- Bingo Night at PLS is scheduled for Monday April 7th. Space will be limited to 200 people. Tickets will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Orders deadline is March 28th.
- A Family Night at the Lowell Devils is planned for April 5th. They will be playing the Providence Bruins.
- The clothes closet could still use unisex sweatpants and girls underwear, size small.
- The playscape renovation is in its' final stages. 12 to 15 people will be needed to apply one more coat of stain. Some new playscape apparatus will also be replaced. The date to finish the project will be announced when good weather approaches.
District Parent Council Report
- Parent Academy is March 26th at 6:00 pm. At Nettle school. The topic is understanding the HPS budget. Babysitting is provided.
- Monday March 24th at 6:00, a public forum will be held at Consentino school regarding the proposed move of 5th graders to middle schools.
- April 9th at 6:00, a city wide PTO forum will be held at Bradford Elementary school.
Principal's Report
- A Math–a–thon fundraiser will take place in April. Proceeds will support the implementation of the Second Step program and other student related activities.
- Second Step training will begin in September.
- MCAS begin on March 24th. Please prepare your child with a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast.

Other Business
- Teacher Appreciation day is May 7th. Look for notices coming home to support a school wide teacher's appreciation program.
- A children's book drive will take place in April to support the new downtown book store run by the students in the learning for life program.
- Fall fundraising events will be discussed at the next meeting.

Updates and Announcements
- Holiday Workshop in December was a huge success! Even though several snow days interfered with the workshop schedule, all students had access to the workshop.
- Family night out at Checkered Flag resulted in only a few families participating.
- Holiday Cheer for the Staff went very well. They enjoyed the holiday buffet.
- Box Tops' submission date February 29th . Student participation has been strong.
- Ski Club at PLS had a great first season! Thanks to Heidi Leavitt for her organizational skills in kicking off the program.
- The clothes closet at PLS is in need of underwear and socks, girls and boys, sizes 5–8. The remainder of a donated BJ's gift card will be used to purchase these items.
Principal's Report
- PLS is hosting the Academic Bowl on February 15th.
- TBD. A used book sale drive may take place to support the Special Needs program at the High School.
- The PLS staff is scheduled to have a professional development day on February 13th. The development will focus on writing skills and differentiated instruction.
- MCAS are coming up quickly. March 24–28, March 31–April 4, and May 12–30. Good attendance, punctuality and a nutritious breakfast are crucial for your child's and the school's success.
- We are honored that a PLS pen is traveling on the Space Shuttle. It is scheduled to take off on March 11th.

- Election Day Bake Sale made a $300.00 profit.
- Evening of Giving was a great success with a profit of $1,400.74.
- Holiday Workshop will be open from 9am–12pm and 2–3pm. Students will have the opportunity to purchases up to 10 personalized ornaments for family and friends.
- Family Night Out at Indoor Checkered Flag has been planned for 12/27/07 from 11am–10pm. Pentucket Lake families will be able to ride at discounted rates.
- Coordinator's Report—Ski Club, at Bradford Ski Area, is once again offered at PLS. There are currently 10 kids signed up.

- Holiday Helping Hands—Pentucket Lake School PTO and teachers raised $875.00 in funds to help 5 needy families for the holidays.

Updates and Announcements
- Fall fundraiser was a big success with $18,000 in sales and approximately 200 children participating. Profits will be calculated after returns are completed.
- Family Fun Night at the Lowell Devils was huge fun for the 49 fans that attended from PLS.
- Election Day bake sale to take place in November. Notices will be sent home.
- Evening of Giving slated for Thursday November 29th from 6–8:30 at PLS. More coming regarding raffle and vendor details.
- Parent Academy, October 17th. Consentino School 6–8
Principal's Report
- MCAS results will be distributed shortly.
- Thanks to the four parent volunteers who committed to site council membership(Megan Fitzpatrick, Sue Rostosky, Tarry Santos, Diane Prescott–Boulanger) and to Tracey Fuller, Haverhill YMCA Executive Director, for her role as community member.
- New pick up and drop off for students is catching on. Mrs. Roberts asks that all parents continue to follow the pick up guidelines for the safety off all students.
- YMCA after school program is successfully up and running.

Updates and Announcements
- Lowe's Playground Grant, in the amount of $5,000.00, has been used to stain, repair and mulch the playground. Solar security lights will also be installed. Thank you to Michael Bresnahan and all the parents for their hard work!
- Open House had a successful turnout. Students enjoyed being tour guides this year.
- BJ's Wholesale Club has adopted Pentucket Lake School. Memberships can be purchased or renewed for $35.00 for 15 months ($10.00 savings). Five dollars from each membership will be returned to the school as a fundraiser.
- Amazing Hero Art put on an inspirational “Be Somebody” show for the students. The PTO was able to purchase a painting of Abraham Lincoln to join the Martin Luther King painting that currently hangs in the foyer.
- Site Council members this year will be Sue Rostosky, Terry Santos, Diane Prescott–Belanger and Megan Fitzpatrick.
Principal's Report
- PLS has 50 new DELL computers that will be up and running shortly.
- Best Buy Grant—currently being applied for in the hopes to receive 2 new projectors.
- Principal Roberts and Assistant Principal Kane met with the students, by grade levels, to let them know the rules and expectations for the upcoming year.
- PLS Newsletter will now be received at the beginning of the month with news on upcoming events.
- Front door security system in the plans to be installed by the end of November.

Current Balance is $4496.32–$2200.00 allocated for the playground grant.
