School Highlights
 

A Science Room that combines Science and Technology in inquiry-based curriculum. Hands-On Kits are the foundation of instruction. Professors from Northern Essex Community College provided staff development for the Pentucket Lake Staff. The National Science Resource Center, operated by the Smithsonian Institution and the National Academy of Sciences, developed the kits to improve the teaching of science in the nation's schools. Pentucket Lake has sixteen kits.

Approximately one hundred twenty-five students participated in the after school enrichment programs. Programs included drama, Japanese Culture, yoga, Early American crafts, Karate, yearbook, sewing, birdhouse making, etc.

One hundred thirty-five students participated in the after school chorus program which meets weekly. The chorus performed at the State House in March 1999.

After school intramurals for boys and girls in cross-country, basketball, volleyball, and track.

Summer camps have included a Fine Arts Camp, an Astro/Space Camp, and a Science/Inquiry/Pond Mucking Camp.

After school child care is provided on site by the YWCA.

We have increased our library collection from 5,700 books to over 16,472 at the present time.
