In our Mathematics classrooms, we strive to build mathematically proficient students prepared to meet the demands of mathematics in the real world. In our classrooms, students focus on the most important content while building on what they already know. Students learn the “hows” and “whys” of Math and apply it to the world around them. Math tasks that challenge students and provide a description of the important math involved, a note on where the math is used in the real world, a hint to get started, complete solutions, and resources for further exploration
All assessments should serve as information for instruction and be responded to appropriately. Instruction should address identified misconceptions. Assessments will focus on the identified priority standards, which are collaborated upon minimal expectations for students at each grade level. Common assessments are mapped out on our district assessment calendar which can be found here.
