    403(b) retirement plan, are available.

    The Haverhill Public Schools offers benefits to permanent full-time employees working 20 or more hours per week. Eligible dependents include your spouse and your child(ren) to age 26. If enrolling spouse and/or child(ren) you will need to provide a copy of your marriage certificate and children’s birth certificate.

    The health insurance through the GIC begins on the first day of the month following 60 days or two full calendar months of employment, whichever comes first.  Important: The GIC heath insurance enrollment form must be completed and submitted within 10 calendar days of hire. Please reference the GIC Effective Date of Coverage Chart to confirm the effective date of your health insurance.  Please reference the GIC Coverage End Date Chart which will show when your health insurance coverage will end if you leave Haverhill Public Schools.

    Dental insurance is effective the first day of the month following your first day of employment and flexible spending account benefits are effective as of the first day of employment.

    The life and voluntary insurance benefits are effective the first day of the month following one month of service or underwriting.

    You have thirty days from your first day of employment to enroll in these benefits. Please contact the Benefits Department within the first three days of your employment, to review the benefits and to enroll in or waive the insurance.

    Benefit eligible employees are able to enroll in or make changes to their benefits as a new hire, upon a qualifying event (within 30 days of a marriage, divorce, birth, loss of coverage or gain access to coverage, NOTE: the GIC health insurance allows 60 days) and/or during the annual open enrollment period (normally held in April – May with a July 1st effective date).
