    Employees enrolled in one of the Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans are automatically enrolled in the City sponsored Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).

    This plan helps to offset out of pocket expenses associated with co-payments for outpatient surgery, inpatient admission and hi-tech imaging. The plan year runs from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.  If you are enrolled in one of the health plans, each July you will receive a letter informing you of this benefit.  New hires who enroll in one of the health plans will automatically be enrolled in the HRA as of effective date of their health insurance.

    The HRA works in three easy steps:

    1. First you have to reach the out of pocket requirement – which is incur co-payments over $100 that total more than $750 for an individual subscriber and $1,500 for a family subscriber in a plan year.
    2. Then you incur one of the reimbursable copayments – have claims with copayments for outpatient surgery, inpatient admission or hi-tech imaging.
    3. Then you can submit for reimbursement  directly to Crosby.  Claims can be submitted until September 30, 2017 for expenses incurred before June 30, 2017.   Claims for reimbursement may be submitted via fax, mail or the mycrosbybenefits.com website.
