Haverhill Community Resources
Haverhill residents under the age of 18 years old employed in Massachusetts are required to have a work permit. Applications for work permits can be obtained at the M-wing office at Haverhill High School and at the School Department in City Hall, they can also be downloaded here: Youth Work Permit . Permits are issued at the same sites once the application is completed and necessary documents are secured.
Haverhill Youth Programs
You Forward Supports youth and young adults 16-25 experiencing mental health challenges. Staff is also available at Haverhill High School Family Resource Center during Thursday lunch periods.
Community Action-provides resources and opportunities for individuals, families and communities to overcome poverty, including housing and fuel assistance, WIC, Child Care Programs etc., https://www.communityactioninc.org
Ruth’s House- Thrift Store. Also will provide a $50 voucher to each family member, 4 times a year to spend at the store if they qualify. Qualification based on enrollment of at least one of the following programs: MASS Health, Food Stamps/EBT Card, Fuel Assistance, Veterans Aid, SSDI, SSI or Free Lunch Program http://www.ruthshouse.org
Salvation Army 395 Main Street Haverhill MA Provides food pantry, community meals, energy assistance, youth and adult programs. More information on what Salvation Army does
The Massachusetts Family Resource Center for Haverhill is located at 530 Broadway 3rd floor, Lawrence MA. They work with families to provide services and referrals to community agencies to help strengthen families. https://www.frcma.org/about
