Thank you for your continued patience with bussing issues. We are addressing concerns regarding safety and excessive drive times as they come to our attention. These route revisions have resulted in the bussing situation improving but clearly not yet satisfactory.
Today the Mayor and I rode an afternoon school bus. It was a long ride but you would not know it from the children, they were excited to be back at school and sharing stories about their day. A group of particularly animated kindergartners shared that their teacher is the most fun and kindest teacher on earth. Their enthusiasm was contagious, despite the heat and the traffic delays. Their joy and smiles are why educators do what we do, and well worth the work. Thank you, Bradford Huskies for taking me along for the ride!
We continue to work with NRT to revise routes and to gather data for the school committee on the need for additional buses versus simply revising routes. We hope to have some final decisions in the coming week and will be sure to keep everyone informed.
Thank you all once again,
