Welcome Back!

The staff at Golden Hill School hopes that all families have had a fun relaxing summer. It is nice to see familiar faces and meet many new families. With the start of the new school year, it is important to take time to review important school procedures and happenings.

School Arrival and departure times

School begins at 9am sharp!
Students should not be dropped off before 8:45am. Dismissal is at 3:15 at the side door for walkers and the front door for buses. All students need to be picked up at 3:15 sharp for safety reasons. Students should not be on the playscape after school unless accompanied by their parent. Teachers have meetings after school so there is no supervision.

STUDENT DROP-OFF /PARKING **
This is a very important issue.

NO CARS SHOULD EVER DRIVE THROUGH THE BUS LANE!

1.This is illegal and you can be ticketed.

2. Student drop off is to the side of the building near the field.. A sign designates this area. Students should have their bags and lunch boxes ready. No parking in drop off lane!

3. Parents must park their cars in a space if they are stopping their cars or getting out.

4. No Double Parking

5. The Speed limit driving up the hill is 10 MPH!

Miscellaneous Information:

Golden Hill School runs on a 6 day cycle. The school’s monthly calendar has the corresponding letter day. The cost of lunch is $2.25 daily and milk is 60 cents. Free/reduced lunch forms are available. If dismissing your child or changing their normal way home, please send in a note. We can not allow a child to go home an alternate way without a note. Students can not switch buses without approval from the Coppola bus company. This is for their safety.
Please send in a note when your child is returning from an absence.
Agendas for grades 3-5 will be given to each child. The cost is $3.00. Please send this in to your child’s teacher. Agendas are an excellent way for your child to remain organized and also allow for parents and teachers to communicate on daily happenings. If your child needs medication at school, the medication must be brought in to the nurse in it’s original bottle by an adult. Please return two copies of the green emergency card ASAP to your child’s teacher. Please update regularly throughout the school year with any new information.

Community Involvement

Parents are encouraged to take part in their student’s education. There are monthly family nights, a Parent- Teacher Organization, and Site Council opportunities. We are looking for new Members for the Golden Hill Site Council. This is a nice way to learn what is going on in the school and district , and help make decisions that will effect your child’s achievement! You are the key to your child’s success in school!

RESPECT-

Students at Golden Hill are taught to have respect for themselves and others. Diversity and differences are appreciated and valued at Golden Hill School. Golden Hill School takes part in the Second Step Program which involves conflict resolution and appreciation of diversity.

The speed limit up the hill is 10mph.
