Ebola (Fall 2014)
Ebola: The risk of an Ebola outbreak in Haverhill schools is very low. Ebola is a significant problem in western Africa, and anyone who travels there or has direct contact with someone from affected countries does generate some concern.
We are asking school personnel – from registration nurses and anyone aware of a student’s recent travel – to inquire about exposure to high-risk countries. As is always the case, any student or staff who does not feel well – specifically those with fever – should be excluded from school as soon as possible, until all symptoms are clear.
School Health Services will continue to monitor communications from the CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health in regard to Ebola.
