Haverhill Public Schools Half Day on August 28th and 29th
Due to the extreme heat conditions forecast for this coming week, all Haverhill Public School students will have early dismissal on Tuesday, August 28th and Wednesday, August 29th.
Haverhill High School will be dismissed at 10:30am, Middle Schools, Consentino and Hunking will be dismissed at 11:05am, and Elementary Schools will be dismissed at 11:35am on both days.
If you have a Kindergarten student scheduled for a screening appointment on these days, your appointment will still occur at the scheduled time and place.
Please note that YMCA programs will operate in schools as planned immediately following the close of the school day.

HPS Staff Announcements – August 2018
Superintendent Margaret Marotta is pleased to announce the following appointments to the District Leadership Team for the 2018-2019 school year:
Silver Hill Math Coach Jenn Donais, Awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics TeachingJenn Donais, math coach at Silver Hill, was recently awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching in Washington DC by the National Science Foundation. This is the highest honor a mathematics teacher can receive for outstanding teaching. Jenn’s application was rigorously reviewed by experts at the state and national level. Her essay and video demonstrated to the review panel her substantive knowledge of her discipline and ability to teach math to youthful learners as well as how to assess their learning. This award of excellence was established by Congress in 1983 authorizing the President to bestow this award each each to deserving teachers.
Free Summer Meals for Kids and Teens
Sponsored by the Child Nutrition Outreach Program
CNOP works to increase participation in school breakfast and summer meals in Massachusetts. Together, [they] strive to ensure that all children in the state have access to meals that help them learn and thrive. Free meals are for children under 18 years old around Haverhill this summer. No registration or identification is required.
