Jenn Donais, math coach at Silver Hill, was recently awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching in Washington DC by the National Science Foundation.  This is the highest honor a mathematics teacher can receive for outstanding teaching.   Jenn’s  application was rigorously reviewed by experts at the state and national level.  Her essay and video demonstrated to the review panel her substantive knowledge of her discipline and ability to teach math to youthful learners as well as how to assess their learning.  This award of excellence was established by Congress in 1983 authorizing the President to bestow this award each each to deserving teachers.
